The claim made by the Christian Church, specifically by Augustine in his flawed rationalization of Original Sin, that the myth of Adam & Eve describes how the latter fell into sin and dragged the whole of humanity into sin and hence into corruption, after them, therefore all of humanity (rather than some, as Jesus states) needing redemption, is one of the most malevolent hoaxes of all time. Forensic examination of the story of Adam and Eve, and which is found in Genesis 2,3 and 4 (the story ends not with the sending forth from the garden, as the Church would have it, but with the deaths of Adam and Eve) reveals that the evidence against Adam and Eve in regard to their having committed a ‘crime’ is not conclusive; quite the contrary. In Genesis 3, verse 22, it is clearly stated: “Then Yahweh elohim (correctly translated, Yahweh of the Powers, rather than ‘the Lord God’) said, “Behold, the man has become as one of us, knowing good and bad; …”. That makes clear that the adam (but not the woman) rose to peer group status with the elohim (i.e. the Powers, now translated as the Gods or God). This website is a forensic examination of the whole myth of Adam and Eve (now believed by some researchers to have been invented as late as the Babylonian Captivity). The critical analysis comes to the conclusion that Adam and Eve stand wrongly accused of having ‘sinned’, and of having ‘fallen’, that the notion of Original Sin as propounded by Augustine at the Council of Carthage in AD 417 and there made a fundamental article of belief for all Christians, to be disbelieved on pain of excommunication (and/or death) (and reaffirmed at the Council of Trent and via the Augsburg Confession), is deliberate deception by Christian theologians. It appears that Original (that is to say, transmitted) Sin, sin being the innate, since Adam’s failure, propensity to ‘miss the mark’ and/or to achieve any mark, was not introduced - after the eating of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad - by Yahweh Elohim to punish all future generations of humans. The storyteller does not state the Yahweh punished Adam and Eve, and their offspring, in this manner. It appears that the story of Eve was added by an Israelite con-man/priest to an earlier passage story about the creation and initial protection of the groundling (or creature of dust or earth), prior to his release into the world (to wit, Eden proper) so that he might do his job, in order to shift the blame for the ‘terrible state of the world’ from Yahweh Elohim, first to the woman, then to the man and, finally, starting with Paul’s off the cuff remark, to wit, “Wherefore as by one man sin came into the word, and by sin death, etc.,.” and ending with Augustine, to all men and all women. According to Augustine, the alleged sin of the first man (but not of the woman) is transmitted in the male’s semen during intercourse. It is the specific purpose of this website to rehabilitate the much maligned, indeed dehumanised Eve, and with her, all women. Tertullian’s statements, “All women share Eve's ignominy of original sin and the odium of being the cause of the fall of the human race; …”. And: “Do you not believe that you are (each) an Eve? The sentence of God on this sex of yours lives on even in our times and so it is necessary that the guilt should live on, also. You are the one who opened the door to the Devil, you are the one who first plucked the fruit of the forbidden tree, you are the first who deserted the divine law; you are the one who persuaded him whom the Devil was not strong enough to attack. All too easily you destroyed the image of God, man. Because of your desert, that is, death, even the Son of God had to die.” And, worst of all: “You (i.e. every woman, my insertion) are the devil’s gateway… you are she who persuaded him whom the devil dared not attack. Do you not know that every one of you is an Eve? The sentence of God on your sex lives on in this age; the guilt, of necessity, lives on too.” It is time Tertullian is condemned and kicked out of the Christian Church, along with the liar and cheat Augustine, and who so corrupted the very foundation of the Christian message found in the Gospels.
